Cotton we value
We met with our main jersey supplier at the weekend and asked him about the price of cotton; not surprisingly we were told that the price of cotton is going up. India is enjoying a new era of economic growth; land prices are rising as a result of industrialisation and there's a growing emphasis on using land to grow biofuels.

Ethical Businesses and Strong Leaders
Even sir Terence Conran took the trouble to write to the FT (Letters 2nd April 08) in support of Sir Stuart Rose and his leadership. The shareholders' wrath at Sir Stuart having been voted both CEO and Chairman of M&S was clearly not well received in many quarters.
